Arthurfest 2022

Celebrating Arthur’s life on Saturday, July 30th in Great Falls, Virginia.

Starting at 10am until 3pm we’ll be gathering Arthur’s friends for a celebration of his life in one of his favorite places, Great Falls National Park. We will be meeting on the VIRGINIA side of Great Falls Park (9200 Old Dominion Dr, McLean, VA 22102) for a catered lunch and sharing of Arthur stories.

We’ll be meeting a short distance from the park entrance, at the picnic area near the parking lot and Visitors Center, about 100 yards east of the Visitors Center. Once you enter the park you’ll see the picnic area on the right side, its a large open area, but we should be relatively easy to find (call Sammy at 515-710-0035 if you have any issues). Lunch will be ready around 11:15.

A bus will be picking up anyone who’d like to come at 10am at the Courthouse (Orange Line) Metro station. Bus will depart at Courthouse Metro at 10am, leave the park at 3pm, stopping at Jonmin’s (Arthur’s Mom) house on the way to back to Courthouse metro by around 3:45pm. No charge to ride the bus, just message samson801@gmail.com to RSVP. Booze IS allowed on the bus, in fact a cooler full of Arthur’s favorite swills will be provided.

On particularly nice Saturdays the park can sometimes reach capacity before noon, so we’re encouraging people to arrive around 10am to help avoid waiting in line at the front entrance. Park Rangers will be collecting a $20 entrance fee from everyone driving into the park, but those riding the bus will not need to pay entrance fees.
